SPAAMFAA, The Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Motor Fire Apparatus in America began in Syracuse in 1958, the brain child of Dick Horstmann. The Society's mission is to, as the name suggests, to preserve the history of fire apparatus. The Society has over 3,000 members in the United States, Canada and other countries.
